Day 6 (April 25, 2017): London > Venice > Paris > Mont St-Michel, and finally.....

Our United Boeing 767-400 was one-third full, at best.  We wondered if the bad publicity around the recent passenger being hauled off a United flight had resulted in many people abandoning United?

I was going to fly Pam to New York on the Concorde, but alas, it was full.  (Kidding!  This is one of the last Air France Concordes, which is permemantly mounted on the tarmac at Charles de Gaulle Airport.)

Lunch on our United flight.  Not shown:  the delicious ice cream for dessert!

Just before we reached Newfoundland's Great Northern Peninsula, the Arctic ice floes became quite evident.  What a contrast to springtime in Paris!

We took the train from Newark Liberty to Penn Station in Manhatten, and then transferred to the Subway to get to surprise event #1 for the day...

Surprise event #1 was lunch at the Fig and Olive - a restaurant we greatly enjoyed in California. Apart from California, they only have locations in Chicago and Manhatten, so I wanted Pam to enjoy another birthday meal there.  It did NOT disappoint!

Fig and Olive's chocolate pot and cherry-topped crustinis comprised '50th birthday cake #4"!

From the Fig and Olive, it was on to Central Park... to look at the tulips?

Actually, the tulips were just a stunt to make way for the real reason for coming to New York:  a horse-drawn carriage ride in Central Park:  surprise #2 for the day.  And the last surprise of the entire tour.

Wow, did that horse ever love carrots!

It was a rainy day, but we loved seeing the Park in springtime bloom.

Fifth Avenue is 'drippy' with all the top brands the planet has to offer.  (We did not partake!)

We didn't have time to take in the real Lady Liberty, so this replica had to do.  ;-)

Neither Melania nor Donald would agree to invite Pam up for a fifth and final slab of birthday cake on this tour.
